I loved it because I like The Who. The sound system was screwed up. From what I saw, Pete's guitar was hardly noticeable at first.. Rogers vocal was too loud. It was eventually fixed.
The Who is no more. What I mean is that they no longer have the rhythm. Kieth Moon and John Entwhistle. They played a medley. They used a sample from "Won't Get Fooled Again".
I ejoyed watching Roger and Pete, but it wasn't The Who.

Hi Ben,
I can agree with ya, still they were very powerful and quite entertaining.

Does anyone know who was playing drums?
I saw the Who a couple of times back when Kenny Jones was playing with them and thought he did a great job, but he seemed to get a lot of flack simply because he wasn't Keith Moon.
Anyway, Pete and Roger did a fantastic job tonight.

Hey they still blow everybody away
Zack Starkey is the drummer Kev (Ringo's boy)
Zack does the best job with them since Keith but naturally Keith Moon was one of a kind. he fit the The Who better or as good as any drummer has ever fit any great band! They were AWESOME at the 911 Concert at MSG a few tears back.
They SORELY miss John Entwhistle his sound and playing "make them" and live his growling bass was missed big time tonight.
They did great tonight, I did not like the arrangement of the medley it was not well planned. Pinball should have gone just a bit longer to the stop.. and See Me Feel should have done 2 choruses into "Listening To You" OR leave them out totally because non of it went into each other well at all.
But Pete & Rodger were wonderful The Who is one of the top 5 GREATEST Rock Bands of ALL time. It was great to hear the stadium singing along and these great anthems get passed along to another generation. This was sooooooo much better than seeing Rhianna or Jay Z. The Who is what stadium music IS!! I only wish Freddie Mercury was still with us so next year we could get another built for massive stadium band QUEEN!
You want to talk about lasting lyrics go visit some Townshend songs.... I own every who album and solo Townshend album
To bad Rock is really dead, but The Who were here tonight to say "Long Live Rock" be it dead or alive

Guys!!! You might as well say Buddy Holly is not as good as he used to be - Keith Moon died 32 years ago!! Drag yourselves into the present.
Sure no band can ever be the same when they lose key members. I didn't see the Superbowl performance so can't comment but I did see The Who's Live8 performance 5 years ago which along with the reformed Pink Floyd stole the show. So maybe they don't quite cook like they did 30 odd years ago, but let's face it, who does?!!

The Who are always fun, but still, for my money, nobody will ever top Prince's performance.

The Who did a good job, but nowhere near the best. I agree, Pop, Prince was the best. Then, I liked the Salute to Louis Armstrong; the Stones; Irma Thomas, Al Hirt, and Pete Fountain; McCartney; the Boss; and U2, in that order.

I thought they were good...of course you can't replace Moon or Entwistle....but it was still good ! ! Daltrey can still sing ! I gave the party I was at, a little Who lesson, about the missing guys and their albums and the concerts that I saw ( I saw both the "Tommy" tour in 70 AND the "Who's Next" tour in 71)...everyone said they enjoyed it more knowing the history that I told them !

I thought they were exellent, but agree that they're not really "The Who" without Entwistle and Moonie.

The accompanying light show was pretty awesome. At least no one in the Who spazzed out onstage like The Boss did last year.

Hmmm...well it was very *energetic* and he almost failed to execute a couple moves. The knee slide with crotch into the camera was pretty epic.

I am a big Who fan BUT that was not one of their best performances. I have seen cover bands do better. Townsend hit more than the usual number of bum notes and made more timing mistakes than normal. He should also quit trying to sing, he was more off key than Taylor Swift's Grammy performance. Daltrey still has a great voice but for once the balance was far too loud for the band. The drummer and bass were average players even allowing for the fact that Moon and Entwistle cannot be replaced. They also made the BIG mistake of trying to cram too much into too short space of time.

When they ran that commercial with Betty White, I thought it was Roger Daltry back out for an encore.

The WHO now...... Super Bowl
The WHO then...... The High Numbers
On bass was Pino Palladino and on drums was Zak Starkey.......both outstanding players, but hard to hear in the SB mix. Pete's son was on guitar.

The Live sound feed to the T.V audience is always an iffy propostion, and probably not the bands fault.
