Mastering the tunes is essential if you want your Music to go places. Just composing and recording the song does not make the song complete. What polishes and packages the song is the mastering done on it. What is mastering? Mastering is the finesse provided to the song to make it sound professional. Mastering is the process through which the song is tweaked to make it sound perfect. The mastering engineer listens to the song with a fresh perspective and modifies it accordingly. The mastering studio comprises of all the modern equipments for mastering process. It includes compressor, equalizer, synthesizers and the rest. Mastering engineer has years of experience in mastering the song. Some of the defects, which remain uncorrected in the recording stage are rectified in the mastering stage. The mastering process is now also available online. Online mastering services are affordable and convenient. It is easy to access the online services as all it needs is to upload the files on the mastering sites and get it mastered. internet mastering services are becoming popular owing to its ease and convenience. The quality of these services is in no way less than the attended mastering services. The service is way more affordable too. Mastered tunes are highly contagious and hummable. It is the professional touch given to the album before it is released for commercial sale. The difference is apparent when such tracks are played alongside amateur ones. With the music frenzy population, any musician worth his salt, cannot afford to forgo mastering services, however good might be his rendition.

I see magic created live at my open mics by daring songwriters who step up to the plate and offer a very human, accessible rendition of their own music for a very human, accessible, forgiving and supportive crowd. Just like beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder too. While I appreciate the purpose and expertise of a masterful masterer, there is nothing that compares (IMO) to the sincere performace of a song LIVE. Mastering takes a back seat to that - no matter the rendition. It's not the mastering that makes the song *POP* for me . . . it is people just being real. Period. Sorry. Just struck me and felt I needed to stand up for those who don't necessarily have a shiny project as a goal. Don't get me wrong . . . there's nothing wrong with wanting to present your very best - and if mastering does that for you, then have at it! But there is beauty in just plain old song sharing with those wanting to hear it. ~Bubbles We are the music makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams, Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams; World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams: Yet we are the movers and shakers Of the world forever, it seems. ~Arthur O'Shaughnessy

Well, Bubbles, we can see if Mr. One-post with the not-so-hidden-link-to-his-mastering-service has anything to add to your ruminations.

Mancip, you'd be much better suited if you took the time to introduce yourself properly and be up-front about your intentions {to promote your mastering service}

I think the guy is upfront.... this was a blatant piece of promotion. His client list is impressive as is his gear.....that said at £65 per track I would like a bit more than just a link out of the blue before I would consider taking a chance using him. It would be fair to say that most people who produce recordings worth spending that kind of money on mastering will already know great engineers who provide such a service. Mastering tends to be a word of mouth thing.
