Hi folks, I have some new songs ready; one of them is "Come down". I finished the first rough idea for this song in about 2 hrs; then added some pilot vocals and asked Bernd Harmsen to write the lyrics. Then came a lot of work... Music & Recording: Bernd Oettinger Text: Bernd Harmsen Vocals: Ruven Goetzner http://soundcloud.com/berndoettinger/come-down Hope you like it. come down (lyrics by Bernd Harmsen) you're young and strong, you're smart and sweet you have the world at your feet you've got time and money that you can spend life's like a party with no end sometime in time you'll come down sometimes emotions may be running high sometimes you think that you can fly whatever comes you will go all the way you're taking risks but that's okay sometime in time you'll come down you'll come down you've seized your chance, you've come out on top no-one who could make you stop you've been riding fast, you've been riding high got the biggest part of the pie sometime in time you'll come down there are times you feel like superman nothing that could stop your plans you've achieved so much - you can be proud but then your wishes often reach beyond the clouds sometime in time you'll come down you'll come down

Hey Berndt,
Yeah, a nice listen, you've captured a really good sonic layering,..... very well balanced. ( on my setup, it seems to miss a bit of clarity, a slight 10k boost may help, to my ears, but otherwise, the texture is great ) it has cool seperation.
Perhaps the structure could be worked on just a little. The 2 main themes carry the song through, but I'd like to see a 3rd element there somewhere, for contrast. Not necessarily a bridge, just a change, and not too far removed. Take it out there, and bring it back ?
Very enjoyable anyways, hope to hear more as it progresses.
cheers, niteshift

Very cool blend of lots of different styles. Great build to the chorus with a very nice mode change. Slide guitar solo and the key change near the end are the best bits for me. Great song I'll have to check the rest of your tracks out after listening to how good this one was.

GREAT song! An accurate ode to one's "15 minutes"! Everything on this was well done. Thumbs up!

Hey,
thanks for all your feedback. I really appreciate that, knowing your time is scarce with a lot of unfinished tunes waiting on the hard drive :-)
@mork: I played the slide solo two times on a mandolin and panned it left and right. Sounds like a acoustic guitar indeed. @niteshift: I only did the rough mix, a friend of mine (a sound engineer) did the final mix and mastering. He's also a specialist in Stem mastering... I can understand your criticism about structure. The song's a bit too long for this ABABAB structure, but I guess my discomfort with that issue has to grow a little bit more, before I will change anything, since other work in progress is waiting for me on my hard drive, too :-)
Cheers, Bernd
